  10. The Libby Museum: A Brief History of New Hampshire's Only Natural History Museum

    February 20, 2020, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

    An assortment of natural specimens from The Libby Museum in Wolfeboro are now on display in the Upper Exhibit Gallery of the Library. The collection features animals native to New Hampshire, as well as information about naturalist Dr. Henry Forrest Libby, who founded the museum in 1912. Museum Director, Alana Albee, will give a talk on the history of the museum, followed by a guided tour of the exhibit.

Caroline Hughes, a biologist with the Loon Preservation Committee, will talk about this unique symbol of New Hampshire’s wild lakes and its special place in the hearts of New Hampshire residents. The Loon Preservation Committee is a non-profit organization based in Moultonborough dedicated to the conservation of the common loon and its habitat in New Hampshire.
