Special Events Review Committee
****UPDATE FOR 2020 MOTORCYCLE WEEK****
In light of the City's concerns about welcoming potentially thousands of guests to Laconia Motorcycle Week 2020 and the Council’s concern for public health, the City of Laconia will not license any vendors on the city or private property (either merchandise, food, beverage, alcohol or entertainment) and they also discourage private property owners from hosting campsites and campers - particularly those that are unable or unwilling to abide by NH's quarantine protocols. i.e. 14-day quarantine if traveling from outside New England states.
In recognition of the many applicants who have already submitted site plans and been approved for events, temporary campgrounds, vendors, and/or temporary parking we are offering three options:
Option A: Withdraw your application for Motorcycle Week 2020 and request a refund of fees paid.
*If you choose Option A, please submit a request for the refund in writing to the Planning Office. You may submit the request via email at firstname.lastname@example.org Please be sure to include your name, address of the event, contact phone number, and the address that the refund is to be returned to.
Option B: Withdraw your application and roll your fees paid to your application for Motorcycle Week 2021
Option C: (TEMPORARY PARKING AND TEMPORARY CAMPGROUNDS.) Maintain your permit and proceed with Motorcycle Week 2020 following all recommended guidelines for public health and safety.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Planning Office at 603-527-1264.
You will also be receiving a separate letter from the Licensing Department concerning any license already granted.
Any property owner using their land for temporary vendors, temporary camping, temporary structures or temporary parking during Motorcycle Week or any other events throughout the year, shall apply to the Special Events Review Committee for approval. Completed applications are submitted to the Planning Dept for the Special Events Committee for review. The Committee shall review the application, hold a public hearing and act to grant final approval, with specific conditions, or denial of the application. A quorum of four members of the committee is required to conduct a review meeting.
If you are a vendor looking to rent a vending spot, or have any licensing questions, contact Licensing at 603-528-6331 for assistance.
