The Laconia Police Department does not issue applications for employment. It is not a requirement for a full-time certified police officer to take the Great Bay Community College Police Entrance Exam.
Candidate Requirements
The Laconia Police Department accepts resumes from full-time certified police officers. Candidates must pass the following:
Extensive background investigation
Medical physical
Oral board
Physical agility test
Polygraph exam
Psychological exam
Applicants must also be a U.S. citizen, 21 years of age, and must possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent. A college degree is desirable.
Salary
The salary range is $47,985.60 to $69,867.20 with an extensive benefits package. Starting pay is negotiable based on experience level.

Great Bay Community College Testing
The Laconia Police Department participates in a regional testing process through Great Bay Community College. Participation in the test will place the applicant on the eligibility list of approximately 45 southern New Hampshire, northern Massachusetts and southern Maine law enforcement agencies.
The physical fitness tests are based on the Cooper Aerobics Institute standards. Visit the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council's website under the FAQ's section to see what is required.
