Administration

Laconia was established as a City in 1893 and is the county seat for Belknap County. Originally governed by a Mayor/City Council form of government, in 1971 the City implemented a City Manager/City Council form of government with the Mayor being the ceremonial head of the City.


Council & City Manager

The Council is responsible for all budgetary, judicial and executive functions of the City.

The City Manager, as chief administrative officer, oversees the City's day-to-day operations.
